Around the World with Picture Books

In 2019, for the first version of TaCita, the Chihiro Art Museum collaborated with Bandung Institute of Technology to exhibit along with 35 artworks by Indonesian artists, 30 works by Japanese picture book artists from the museum collection.This year, when we are facing the challenge of the pandemic, we wish to show that wonderful art of picture books can be brought to “anyone, anywhere” with the help of on-line exhibition.

Chihiro Art Museum, established in 1977, considers picture books are for all ages, and believe that a great picture book can overcome geographical boundaries as well. Currently the Museum’s collection comprising mainly of original illustrations of picture book artists, amount to 27.200 works by 207 artists from 34 nations and countries,

For this special exhibition we invite you to explore the rich and diverse world of picture books with 30 illustrations by 11 artists from seven countries. Bon voyage!
